Chef Alex Carrasco is the heart and soul of Durango Cocina & Rooftop, bringing his expertise and passion for authentic Latin cuisine to every dish. With a career that spans Michelin-starred restaurants and renowned culinary programs, Chef Alex has earned a reputation for his innovative approach to traditional Mexican flavors.

Born and raised in Mexico City, Chef Alex’s culinary journey began in his nana’s kitchen, where he first discovered the vibrant spices and fresh ingredients that would shape his cooking style. His love for authentic Mexican food led him to Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, followed by culinary stints in Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe. Drawing inspiration from his travels and deep-rooted Mexican heritage, Chef Alex blends traditional techniques—like cooking on stone and over fire—with modern culinary artistry, creating dishes that are as visually stunning as they are flavorful.
